NDDC’s FREE MEDICAL MISSION ADVOCACY: A Heartening Intervention For Ikot Abasi Health Care Needs!

The ongoing NDDC FREE MEDICAL MISSION has been a huge success. The testimonies streaming daily are cogent signs of the beneficiaries applause for the interventionist for such awesome gesture.

The traffic since yesterday at Edemaya 1 since the berth of the free medical mission are eloquent scepter of the strides of the commission. The people couldn’t hide their appreciation to His Excellency, Obong Dr. Nsima Ekere (former MD – NDDC) for awarding the free medical outreach to ARRDEC for implementation during his tenure. This has really helped so many persons in the rural communities who can’t afford huge hospital bills.

In its avowed determination to boost the healthcare benefits of the Niger Deltans, NDDC has resonate in the minds of Akwa Ibom indigenes the commitment of the interventionist in making a difference and their adherence to the social goal precepts.

Health is wealth, and a healthy nation is a wealthy nation. The importance of the outreach is to directly impact the lives of those in rural communities and create a lasting change on the people through motivated health care; complementing the normal health delivery services in the state.

In Ikot Abasi LGA, the pressing health issues of the rural dwellers which includes the elderly, children, pregnant women etc with medical and surgical problems especially those who are poor and cannot afford the cost of Medicare were treated free.

The program has helped reduce the morbidity and mortality figure in Akwa Ibom. Over 135 surgeries were carried out and 2000 patients treated and drugs administered.

The Outreach moves to Mbo LGA and Oron on 13th – 14th November 2019
