Contractor promises prompt delivery of NDDC project in Akwa Ibom

A fact-finding group in the Niger Delta region, Citizens Quest, on Thursday, visited a road construction site in Onna Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.

The project contract awarded by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) is the construction of the One Kilometre Corner Rock Road in Ikot Akpatek community.

Work was in full swing when the Citizens Quest team arrived at around 4:05pm.
The construction workers defied heavy downpour to work.

Speaking to Citizens Quest, the lead contractor, Engr. Adesina Williams of Design Cardinal Resources Limited, said his firm is committed to delivering a quality job in record time.

According to him, working under the rain indicates his team’s resolute commitment to ameliorating the plight of the community.

“We are battling bad weather. We are trying to see how we can fight with the weather. The community people are very happy that work is going on. As you can see everyone is happy to come out to assist….”, he added.

The Community Liaison Officer (CLO) of the project, Mr. Sunday Monday poured encomiums on the NDDC for coming to the aid of the community.

“Some villages are looking for this but don’t see it. NDDC has done well for us. This road was very bad. We as a community are in support of the NDDC “, Monday noted.

A woman in community, Mrs. Ima Henshaw Silas also heaped praises on the NDDC.
